This page explains where your listings live in Seller Center, the three listing statuses, the five ways to create a listing, what the review queue checks, and how to edit listings, variants, media, bundles, and categories. This page summarizes the Listing Accuracy Policy, which governs, and listing obligations are stated in the Selling Terms of Service.
Where listings live
Manage listings under Catalog → Listings (/seller/catalog/listings). Your listings are catalog items tagged to your seller account, shown up to 200 per view, each with its name, public address, current price, primary image, SKU, status, and stock. The index page provides a search box and a status filter: All statuses, Active, Pending review, and Suppressed.
Learn the three statuses, because they are the life cycle of every listing
- Pending review: where every new listing starts. It is in the review queue and is not visible on the storefront.
- Active: the listing passed review and is visible and sellable.
- Suppressed: the listing has been pulled from the storefront by the Company, for example for a policy violation, a brand gating issue, or a safety flag. It remains yours and remains in your catalog, but it is not selling. Suppression is an enforcement action; see Policies, Violations and Appeals.
The five ways to create a listing
Go to Catalog → Listings → Add a listing (/seller/catalog/listings/new) and choose the method that matches your situation
- Single listing (
/seller/catalog/listings/new/single): the full form: name, description, price, brand, SKU, and everything else. Slowest per item and highest quality per item. Use it for your first listings while you learn what review checks (see Listing Content Standards). - Express (
/seller/catalog/listings/new/express): name and price only, with details completed after. Finish every express listing the same day; an unfinished listing sits in pending review or goes live thin and is suppressed for content quality. - Match catalog (
/seller/catalog/listings/new/match-catalog): search the platform catalog and attach your offer to an existing product. Use this when the product already exists on the platform, so one product page carries multiple sellers. Creating a parallel listing for a product that already exists is a catalog quality violation. - Spreadsheet upload (
/seller/catalog/listings/new/spreadsheet): CSV upload from the provided template for bulk creation. The template fixes the columns, formats, and required fields. Before you upload, check your file against the template; after you upload, check the row count. Renamed columns, wrong date formats, and HTML in plain-text fields are the common causes of a partial import. - Supplier import (
/seller/catalog/listings/new/supplier-import): import products from a connected supplier's catalog. Every imported listing still goes through review, and supplier-provided titles and descriptions are a common source of claims violations, so treat imports as starting points and review the content before you rely on it.
The review queue
New listings go into the review queue before they appear on the storefront. Review checks content quality, policy compliance, brand gating (see Brand Gating and Authorizations), and restricted and prohibited categories. Submit early if you are timing a listing to a promotion or a season.
The items most often returned are missing or low-quality images, keyword-stuffed titles, descriptions copied from another site, missing identifiers (UPC or GTIN where required), and veterinary or health claims on pet products.
Warning
Publishing a listing puts it into review for the storefront, and an active listing is an offer buyers can buy. Check the product, price, images, and shipping template before you submit, and do not relist a suppressed listing without first fixing the cause recorded for the suppression: relisting without fixing the cause is itself a violation.
Editing and related catalog tools
- Listing detail (
/seller/catalog/listings/[id]): edit an individual listing. - Variants (
/seller/catalog/variants): manage variant structure: one product family, with variant SKUs underneath it. - Media (
/seller/catalog/media): manage product images across listings. - Bundles (
/seller/catalog/bundles): manage bundles. - Categories (
/seller/catalog/categories): set category placement for your listings. - Imports (
/seller/catalog/imports): history and status of your bulk imports. - Suppression (
/seller/catalog/suppression): your suppressed listings and the reason for each.
If something goes wrong
- Listing held in pending review: check it against the content standards in Listing Content Standards first, then check brand gating if it is a gated brand.
- Listing suppressed after going live: check
/seller/catalog/suppressionfor the reason: a complaint, a policy flag, or a brand authorization that lapsed: then follow the appeals path in Policies, Violations and Appeals. - Spreadsheet import shows fewer rows than you uploaded: download the template fresh, compare your columns to it, and re-upload.
- Duplicate listing flagged: use match catalog for that product, and request a merge rather than contesting the flag.
The listing policy family governs the details: the Listing Accuracy Policy, the Product Detail Page Policy, the Product Image Policy, the Product Title Policy, the Product Description Policy, the Product Identifiers Policy, the Catalog and Variant Policy, the Category Placement Policy, the Product Claims Policy, the Search Manipulation Policy, the Product Review Policy for Sellers, the Seller Pricing Policy, and the Promotions and Coupons Policy. Product compliance is governed by the Restricted Products Policy, the Prohibited Products Policy, the Pet Food and Treats Policy, the Flea, Tick and Pesticide Products Policy, the Prescription Products Policy (Sellers) (Prescription Products Policy (Sellers)), the Live Animals Policy, the Dangerous Goods Policy, the Product Recall Policy (Sellers) (Product Recall Policy (Sellers)), and the Product Warranty Policy.
