Account Settings and Security

This page explains the Account area of Seller Center: profile, company information, contact details, users, notifications, policy acceptances, and health and compliance: how password and account security work, and how to get help. Account security is governed by the Seller Account Security.

Your account pages

  • Account → Profile (/seller/account/profile): your public-facing seller identity: display name and page address, the details buyers see. Keep it professional and current; your storefront identity is governed by the Storefront and Identity Display Policy.
  • Account → Company info (/seller/account/company-info) and Account → Contact (/seller/account/contact): your legal and contact details. Update these the week something changes. Stale company information is how verification mismatches happen (see Business Verification and Tax Identity), and stale contact information is how a notice is missed.
  • Account → Users (/seller/account/users): who else can access your seller account. Give each person the access their job needs and no more, and remove a person's access the day they leave. A former team member with active portal access is a risk you have chosen to keep.
  • Account → Notifications (/seller/account/notifications): what the Company tells you and how. Keep every operational notice on: orders, returns, disputes, policy notices, and payout notifications. You may reduce promotional notices; do not turn operational notices off: a missed dispute notice can start a response clock you do not see running.
  • Account → Policy acceptances (/seller/account/policy-acceptances): your record of the policies you have accepted. This is the page that matters if a question arises about whether you agreed to a rule.
  • Account → Health & compliance (/seller/account/health-compliance): your compliance standing: verification status, tax identity status, and policy acceptance status. Check it quarterly; it is the early warning for administrative problems that become selling problems.

Warning

Removing a user under Account → Users ends that person's access to your listings, orders, payouts, and refunds. Remove access on the day a team member leaves, and review the user list whenever a role changes.

Security

Account → Security (/seller/account/security) is where you change your password: enter your current password, your new password, and confirm the new password.

Because Seller Center controls listings, orders, payouts, and refunds, treat its credentials as money-adjacent credentials

  1. Set a strong password that is unique to this portal. Do not reuse the password from your email, your bank, or any other service.
  2. Store it in a password manager.
  3. Change it on your normal rotation schedule, and immediately if you suspect it has been shared or compromised.
  4. Never share your sign-in. Each person who needs access gets their own access under Account → Users.

Getting help

Communication → Support (/seller/communication/support) is your channel to the platform team. Use it for billing and payout questions with specifics (statement period, transaction, amount), technical problems with the portal (see Troubleshooting (Seller Center Troubleshooting) for what to include), appeals questions (see Policies, Violations and Appeals), and anything the documentation does not answer.

A support request is answered fastest when it states the specific page, the specific order, listing, or transaction reference, what you expected, what happened instead, and when. A request without a period, an amount, or a reference cannot be investigated without further exchanges.

Communication → Inbox (/seller/communication/inbox) and Messages (/seller/messages) carry buyer–seller messaging. Write professionally, promptly, and factually; every message may become evidence in a dispute. Response-time expectations are stated in the Customer Service Standards Policy, and messaging conduct is governed by the Buyer-Seller Communication Policy.

Communication → Forum (/seller/communication/forum) is seller community discussion: suitable for asking whether other sellers see the same behavior, and not a substitute for support when you need an answer about your own account.

Docs (/seller/docs) holds documentation inside the portal, including this help library.

Settings

Settings (/seller/settings) holds shop-level settings. Review them after onboarding and revisit them quarterly; the configuration that was right when you launched may not be right after a year of growth.

If something goes wrong

  • Locked out: contact your administrator. Accounts are administrator-created (see Seller Center Overview), so recovery runs through them.
  • Password change not accepted: re-enter the current password exactly, and confirm the new password matches in both fields. If it still fails, report it through Communication → Support.
  • A critical notice missed: check your notification settings, check your spam folder, and allowlist the Company's sender addresses. Then check the audit log under Governance → Audit log (see Policies, Violations and Appeals).
  • A former team member still has access: remove it now, then review every remaining user.
